Last October, we announced ambitious plans to create a new nationwide tyre management specialist with the merger of Tructyre and ATS Euromaster’s heavy tyre operation.
After just 8 months of hard work, we are delighted to confirm we have completed this transition. Four new Regions have been created to deliver the proven tyre management model countrywide, which mirror the operational model of the established South & South East Region. Each has a Regional office – home to the service centre, fleet administration and sales team – with a dedicated team of tyre technicians operating from a network of local service zones and stocking points. All designed to ensure the best knowledge of the area and our customers’ fleets.
To service our national fleets, we designed fully-integrated systems to provide a seamless service across the country. These customers benefit from having just one proactive tyre service and roadside support provider for their fleet. With the peace of mind that our high level of industry compliance gives to their business.
Our Field Operations team reviewed every procedure and method to ensure we brought together the best practices of both companies; requiring updated training for over 550 tyre technicians. This represents a 20% increase in headcount to ensure our high-levels of proactive tyre service are delivered nationwide. With over 100 new Mercedes Benz service vehicles, each fully equipped with the best tools, being added to our existing fleet. Then to keep your fleets mobile, some 90,000 new and retread tyres were distributed across eight new warehouses and 45 new service centres by our experienced logistics team.
To accomplish this project in such a remarkably short timescale was wholly due to the dedication of our valued employees – a sincere thank you to you all. However, we recognise a project of this magnitude is not without its operational challenges’ and our level of service did not always meet the Tructyre benchmark. To ensure we continuously exceed the performance you expect we are implementing new systems, technologies and service programmes.
We would like to thank our valued customers for their trust and support during this exciting transition. The positive feedback we have received about the operational benefits of the Tructyre service model confirm we are on the correct plan. We remain fully focussed on providing the most professional and consistent fleet tyre services – nationally, regionally and locally.
This year marked the 5th anniversary of the Tructyre ATS ‘best in class’ Drivers Championships. Every May, we invite six employees with the lowest and the most improved driving telematics score to an action-packed reward day at Silverstone
Kevin Yore, Peter Bibbo, Neil Pullen, Michael Dargonne, Steve Triggs, Aigars Minkevics, Eric Johnson and Gary Mitchell (who kindly stepped in for Gary Zipfel who was unable to attend) all enjoyed the race bred Renault Clio Cup and the awesome Aerial Atom. Their driving skills were tested for braking, racing lines, and gear changing around the UK’s only Formula 1 Grand Prix track. With expert one-to-one tuition provided by GT Pro drivers Jamie Stanley, Ben Clucas and Michael Broadhurst.
Each challenge was carefully timed, allowing Jamie Stanley of GWS Motorsport to proudly present Tructyre Trophies to:
Glenn Sherwood, Tructyre’s founder, commented:
“We conceived this championship to demonstrate our commitment towards our targeting zero accidents initiative. Our service vehicles are brand-ambassadors to every road-user and the telematics help us to reward responsible driving – as well as manage our insurance premiums.”
The day was hosted by GWS Motorsport with over 10 years’ experience in corporate hospitality events
