Tructyre Fleet Management Aquires PK Commercial TyresWe are delighted to announce, that effective 31st October 2012, Tructyre (Fleet Management) Ltd, acquired PK Commercial Tyres group of companies.

Both companies, having worked closely together over a number of years, have good synergies that made it a natural move in order to strengthen its current and future position in the ever changing market.

Glenn Sherwood, Managing Director of Tructyre (Fleet Management) Ltd said "Paul Kuske Managing Director of Commercial Tyres, with 40year's experience in the industry will be staying on in the business for the foreseeable future to work alongside myself in order to integrate the two companies".

The two companies combined will now operate a fleet of in excess of 95 service vehicles and 21 points of sale covering 10 counties in the South and South East corner of the country.

Both companies with a number of dynamic key projects in place will be rolled out in due course by an excellent team of people on both sides, which will enhance its products and services offer to its all-important customers, in meeting their needs now and in the future.

Tructyre Fleet Management reach 10 year milestone with Mercedes-Benz

Tructyre Fleet Maintenance with Mercedes CommercialsWinchester based Commercial tyre service provider "Tructyre Fleet Management" have reached a 10 year milestone with their local Mercedes Benz commercial van supplier Pentagon Commercials (part of the Ridgeway Group). Tructyre purchased their first Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in August 2002 from Pentagon Commercials in Andover and are still doing so to date.

Scott Matthews (Tructyre Senior Operations Executive) said;

"Over the 10 years our business relationship with Pentagon Commercials in Andover and Mercedes-Benz has grown and from day one we both had a good understanding of each other's business requirements. Over the 10 year period we have purchased 95 light commercial vehicles and are currently operating a fleet in excess of 55 Mercedes-Benz vans. Also, all our commercial fleet is maintained by Mercedes-Benz through Pentagon Commercials and other approved MB dealers".

Scott added "I have recently concluded negotiations with both Pentagon Commercials and MB for the supply and maintenance of our next 10 Sprinters for 2013.Tructyre understand that when a customer has a tyre related issue, the ability to be able to respond to their requests in a timely manner is paramount and having the right vehicles and professional staff to react keeps us at the top of our game and number 1 in our field".

Top Safety Accreditation for Tructyre

Tructyre Fleet Management Ltd is one of the latest group of successful companies to join a leading edge scheme, designed to help industry improve its safety record.

The Winchester based firm recently received accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practise amongst UK contractors.

Employing 75 people, Tructyre is principally involved in the supply, service and repair of commercial tyres.

The company’s application for SAFEcontractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.

Tructyre Senior Operations Executive, Scott Matthews said “Health and Safety is a key factor to our business and as important to our staff and our organisation as it is to our customers. Having a clear uniformed structure to clearly demonstrate our commitment via SAFE Contractor is imperative to our daily operation”.

John Kinge, Head of Risk at SAFEcontractor said, "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies".

"More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that Tructyre has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector".

Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website, www.safecontractor.com

Tructyre are pleased to confirm that we have retained the Borough of Poole tyre contract for a further 5 years, with the option of a 1 year extension.

The contract was awarded after the Authority went out to tender. Tructyre scored well on all aspects of the tender.

Tructyre are delighted that the business has been retained against stiff competition, and this is testament of our performance, where we are giving a 1st class service and ensuring the fleet is managed to provide the best possible cost without compromising on quality.

New European Tyre Labelling Requirements for 2012

As of 1 November 2012, suppliers of tyres for passenger cars, light and heavy duty vehicles (C1, C2 and C3 tyres) will have to inform consumers about fuel efficiency, wet grip and road noise in all technical promotional material, including websites. Information will be shown on a label on the new tyre and on the invoice supplied to the customer.

Re-tread tyres, off-road professional tyres and racing tyres will be exempt from this requirement.
